Toddler Shops For $1,700 Furniture While Playing With Mom’s Phone

That’s a good reason to cut down on your child’s screen time.

According to a report, a New Jersey toddler spent $1,700 on online shopping while playing with his mother’s phone.

The Kumar family had just moved into a new house and mother Madhu Kumar, in the process of choosing her furniture, had a bunch of stuff in her virtual basket, News12 reported.

Her 22-month-old son, Ayaansh, enjoys playing with his phone, which leads to disaster.

Suddenly, the family was surprised by a steady stream of unexpected packages from Walmart, the station reported.

“He just went to the cart and whatever was in there, boom, he just clicked and all the payments were done,” Father Pramod Kumar said.

The toddler tab ended up at $1,700 in furniture, mostly accent chairs.

Madhu Kumar’s son Ayaansh racked up $1,700 in furniture purchases while playing on his phone.

“The first person came with the box and put it next to the door. The second person came, then the first stage, then the second stage then the third, it was a queue,” said Madhu Kumar.

The family estimates that around 75% of the purchases have been delivered.

Walmart has promised to reimburse the family for anything they return.

The Kumars plan to add passcodes to their phones and delete their credit card information.

Walmart has promised that the Kumar family will be able to refund all items purchased by their son.

“He likes phones because everyone is virtual. They are busy with their phones, his siblings always with their phones and I don’t know, I think he needs a phone,” the mother said.
