Social media reacts to Sooners’ win over WVU
It was another tough outing for the Oklahoma Sooners’ offense, but the defense seized the opportunity in a narrow 16-13 victory over West Virginia. When it mattered most, the Sooners and Spencer Rattler provided the game’s dynamism by methodically moving the ball across the pitch from their own eight-yard line to give Gabe Brkic a shot at winning the game.
And Brkic did what Brkic did, scoring the 30-yard field goal for the game winner at the end of the time limit.
During the match, some of the Sooners fans in attendance began singing for Caleb Williams to replace Spencer Rattler. While Rattler and the offense certainly struggled a bit with the West Virginia defense, it was never so bad that Rattler had to be replaced.
The racing game was as big a problem as anything. It goes to the inability of the offensive line to move the line of scrimmage or put the advantage against a very good defensive front for the West Virginia Mountaineers.
While some were understandably frustrated with Spencer Rattler’s play and offense, others still supported the Oklahoma Sooners starting quarterback.
Football is a team game, and while Rattler needs to be better, he needs help too. While the quarterback gets all the attention, even the best will struggle if the offensive line is in trouble or the receivers don’t open.
There were inconsistencies throughout the offense last night, and much of that credit goes to West Virginia for coming up with a solid game plan and executing it to the frustration of the Sooners offensive. .
The inconsistency of the offensive line is a problem
One thing is clear after tonight: offensive online play isn’t even close to where it should be.
Oklahoma can’t run when it wants to. Makes the offense predictable. Hurts the game QB.
You fix the OL – other problems start to resolve themselves.

Lincoln Riley’s team showed some enthusiasm at the end
Lincoln Riley, when asked about fan vocals, says they perform best when fans are supportive. Then adds, “I’ll tell you what: it takes a lot of bullets to do what we did there at the end, so people better see it too.” “

Spencer Rattler has support
Sooner Nation owes the entire football team an apology. What they have done in the stands tonight is unacceptable. We are 4-0. Spencer Rattler has won 12 games in a row. No matter if a few of these wins are ugly, they are wins! You don’t boo your team and QB; especially on national TV!

The offensive is not playing well
Heading into the 2020 season, Oklahoma had scored no less than 28 points since Lincoln Riley took over as head coach.
The Sooners have now scored under 28 points in three consecutive Big 12 games. Their 16 points today were the lowest since OU lost 40-6 to Clemson in 2014.

Apparently it’s too much to ask for a good offense AND a good defense
Finally, Oklahoma has a defense with depth and discipline that can consistently keep teams three scores or less and it looks like 1996 and Dick Winder is calling our offense! #Sooners
