Social media reacts to Sooners’ win over WVU

It was another tough outing for the Oklahoma Sooners’ offense, but the defense seized the opportunity in a narrow 16-13 victory over West Virginia. When it mattered most, the Sooners and Spencer Rattler provided the game’s dynamism by methodically moving the ball across the pitch from their own eight-yard line to give Gabe Brkic a shot at winning the game.

And Brkic did what Brkic did, scoring the 30-yard field goal for the game winner at the end of the time limit.

During the match, some of the Sooners fans in attendance began singing for Caleb Williams to replace Spencer Rattler. While Rattler and the offense certainly struggled a bit with the West Virginia defense, it was never so bad that Rattler had to be replaced.

The racing game was as big a problem as anything. It goes to the inability of the offensive line to move the line of scrimmage or put the advantage against a very good defensive front for the West Virginia Mountaineers.

While some were understandably frustrated with Spencer Rattler’s play and offense, others still supported the Oklahoma Sooners starting quarterback.

Football is a team game, and while Rattler needs to be better, he needs help too. While the quarterback gets all the attention, even the best will struggle if the offensive line is in trouble or the receivers don’t open.

There were inconsistencies throughout the offense last night, and much of that credit goes to West Virginia for coming up with a solid game plan and executing it to the frustration of the Sooners offensive. .
