Good Earth will replace Starbucks stores in Indigo stores across Canada

Great news coffee enthusiasts and supporters of local businesses! Nearly a year after sharing their plans to expand their brand, Alberta coffeehouse Good Earth has announced that it has partnered with Indigo to fill several vacant Starbucks in-store locations across Canada.

Founded in Calgary, Good Earth Coffeehouse, which serves ethically sourced sips, sandwiches and baked goods, has gone from a city favorite to a Canadian force since its launch in 1991 – but it’s its most big decision so far.

According to a recent press release, this new partnership marks the “beginning of Indigo’s intention to reimagine and convert its available coffee spaces, with a market-by-market, and sometimes store-by-store approach, providing customers with relevance regional and supporting local businesses”.

“We are thrilled to partner with Good Earth Coffeehouse to bring their elevated experience to our customers,” said Pierre Ruispresident of Indigo in a press release.

“With aligned core values of quality, a commitment to sustainable practices and bringing people together, this couldn’t be a more natural fit. Good Earth prides itself on being a community cafe with great food, and we’re thrilled to be able to offer our customers the opportunity to enjoy the space and connect with each other while they shop at we.

However, it is important to specify that Good Earth will not replace all Starbucks stores in store in Canada – only those that are currently vacant. Several slots will still be occupied by the world-famous chain, giving you options for your caffeine-fueled literature hunt.

As of this writing, the following stores will see the addition of the locally beloved cafe:

  • Indigo Signal Hill in Calgary, AB
  • Indigo Shawnessy in Calgary, AB
  • Chapters Chinook Center in Calgary, AB
  • Westside Chapters in Edmonton, AB
  • Chapters St. Vital Center in Winnipeg, MB

Unfortunately, we don’t know exactly when we will see the change, but it will only be a matter of time.

Until then, be hyped! It’s incredibly exciting.
